Hello! My name is Abba Zainab, a third-year psychology major at Seattle Pacific University (SPU). Originally from Pakistan, I came to the U.S. three years ago as an international student, eager to broaden my academic and personal horizons. Being at SPU has given me an incredible opportunity to learn and grow in ways I never imagined, from exploring different psychological theories to understanding the unique challenges that come with adjusting to a new cultural environment. My journey here is both an academic pursuit and a deeply personal experience, shaped by my commitment to making a difference in mental health and psychology.
Psychology has always fascinated me, especially the intricate ways it connects science with human emotion and behavior. My studies have not only deepened my knowledge but have also sparked my curiosity to learn more about how mental health services can be improved globally. I’m particularly interested in how cultural backgrounds influence mental health experiences, and I hope to use my education to bridge gaps in mental health understanding between different communities. My goal is to contribute to the field in a meaningful way, promoting mental well-being and helping create more inclusive and accessible mental health resources.
Looking ahead, I plan to pursue a master’s degree after completing my bachelor’s, further specializing in an area of psychology that will allow me to make a positive impact. I believe that every person’s experience and background bring unique perspectives to psychology, and I’m excited to see where this journey will take me. Thank you for visiting my page—I’m always open to connecting with others, so feel free to reach out if you’d like to talk more about psychology, mental health, or the experiences of international students!
